With an education in economics, I’ve always been fascinated by markets and the way they shape our lives. My career in mortgage brokering began during a pivotal time in the spring of 2008, when a financial crisis was resculpting the global economy. I quickly learned how sudden macroeconomic forces could affect my clients' personal finances as well as my own - I had just purchased my first home that spring! - Fast-forward to the pandemic of 2020 and its aftermath; again I saw how impactful financial crises can be to decisions around household finances. Both events were times of immense uncertainty but also proof of how resilient families can be when given the right advice/support.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with hundreds of families in both Ontario and BC. This has included guiding them through everything from first-time home purchases to refinancing/renewal strategies that align with their long-term goals.
In addition to mortgage brokering, I continue to foster my passion for market news, industry changes and economic history. This keeps me in touch with the broader forces that shape the economy and, indirectly, the financial decisions of individuals and families. Beyond my professional work, I’m also committed to giving back to my community; Whether through volunteering or coaching, I’m a strong believer in the importance of supporting others - If you have a community project that could use the advice of a mortgage broker, I've love to help. And if you’re looking for an experienced and trusted mortgage advisor, I’d be honoured to help you achieve your goals. Let's chat.
As a mortgage broker with over 20 years of lending industry experience, I’m very familiar with what today's mortgage customers are looking for. Not only are current and soon-to-be homeowners seeking the best rate, they also expect clear guidance and complete accountability throughout the mortgage process; I couldn't agree more.
Mortgage brokers have a fiduciary duty to ensure their clients receive unbiased and clearly communicated advice. This differs from employees of a bank/lender in that I have a duty-of-care which places your needs in front of all else. The suitability of financing recommendations is always prioritized, as is the confidentiality of all clients I work with.
